Acupuncture Face-Lift

What is an acupuncture face-lift?

Acupuncture face-lift is a painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process. An acupuncture face-lift may erase as many as five to fifteen years from the face, with results apparent after just a few treatments. Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished. Bags under the eyes can be reduced, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimized. Other likely results include: moisturizing of the skin with increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face; increased collagen production, muscle tone, and dermal contraction; tightening of the pores; brightening of the eyes; improving of hormonal balance to help acne and reduction of stress evident in the face bringing out the innate radiance of an individual.

How does an acupuncture face-lift work?

Acupuncture increases circulation to the local areas of the face where the fine needles are inserted. Acupuncture promotes the relaxation of the muscles. It increases muscle tone and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This gives the skin a renewed youth and vibrancy.

How many visits will I need?

That depends on what your individual goals are. A typical course of treatment consists of 12 treatments. Some people will only need one course of treatment, while others will want to do additional treatments, especially if the skin is older and wrinkles are deeper. . Many people see some results after their first treatment. The effects of treatments are cumulative, and results are more dramatic and lasting after seven treatments. Each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to and during treatment. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions can help to prolong the results.

Does it really make a difference?

A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. The effects included: the skin becoming delicate and fair, improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles and leveling of wrinkles, a ruddier complexion, and overall rejuvenation not just confined to the face.
