Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very thin and smooth, so when they are inserted, most people feel only a slight sensation or nothing at all. Most people are surprised by how little they feel with the needle. Some people feel a tingle, heaviness or warmth when the needle is inserted. Many people feel nothing at all.

Is acupuncture safe?

When performed by a qualified Licensed Acupuncturist, acupuncture is very safe. Most acupuncturists today use sterilized, individually packaged, disposable needles.

How many treatments will I need?

How many treatments are needed depends on several factors such as the severity, duration and the nature of your condition. For acute conditions just a few sessions may be enough. Chronic conditions require more time, but signs of improvement are generally experienced soon after treatment begins. Your customized treatment plan will be discussed with you on your first visit.

What is expected of me during an acupuncture treatment?

Your treatment time has been set aside just for you. Relax and allow the healing process to occur. Many people fall asleep or become deeply relaxed during an acupuncture treatment. Be sure to ask any questions or voice any concerns that you might have.

Is acupuncture covered by insurance?

More and more insurance companies are covering acupuncture treatment. Our office can contact your insurance company to find out if acupuncture is covered under your health insurance plan. If you have been an automobile accident, you are covered for acupuncture treatment.
